Currently, I'm the Community Engagement Coordinator at Travel Portland. My ultimate career goal is to collaborate with people of diverse backgrounds to create a lasting positive impact in communities and destinations using sustainable/regenerative strategies. I have always loved learning about and visiting cultural and natural heritage sites across the globe and believe sustainable tourism is one of the best means to protect these invaluable resources. I have my Master's in Sustainable Tourism from Arizona State University and a B.A. in Cultural Anthropology from the University of California at Santa Barbara.

Professional background and Skills/Antecedentes y capacidades

Professional background
As the Community Engagement Coordinator for Travel Portland (OR) I help manage our partnership program. As a 501(c)6 organization, Travel Portland is mandated by the IRS to administer a membership program, whereby local visitor-facing businesses and organizations can sign up for partnership benefits to strengthen their connection to Portland's tourism economy. I manage partner accounts in our CRM database, engage our current partners to help them utilize their benefits, help recruit new partners, act as project manager for our twice-monthly e-newsletters, update specific pages on our website, help promote and staff events, and assist other departments as needed.
Skills to share with the consortium
Skills I use in my current position as Community Engagement Coordinator for Travel Portland are CRM database management, project management, newsletter production, marketing email communications, community outreach, meeting scheduling, collaboration, critical thinking and strategizing, strong verbal and written communication, and time management. I have strong interpersonal skills that are complemented by my anthropological background. I have experience conducting interviews, ethnographic research, site assessments for tourism development, business competition analysis, and market research analysis.
